News!
Fairfax County Schools are closed Tuesday, February 9th, and
Wednesday, February, 10. Therefore we are also closed.
In our previous February Newsletter we stated that our school office
would be open regardless of Fairfax County's decision to open or
not. We will NOT open our offices on Tuesday of this week due to
poor road conditions on North Shore Drive. Priority registrations
will be due the day our school reopens.
Tuition payments for February, which were due Friday February 5th,
are now due on the day our school reopens.

The United Christian Parish Preschool serves the needs of children 2 to
5 years of age in morning and afternoon classes. Children may attend 2, 3 or 4 sessions a week in classes of 12 to 15 depending on their age.
OUR STAFF
The Director has both training and practical experience in early
childhood education. Teachers and assistants meet specific educational
requirements and are dedicated to the nurturing and development of all
the children. All personnel participate in continuing education
opportunities and work together closely to maintain the high standards
of the Preschool.
PHILOSOPHY AND GOALS: The United Christian Parish Preschool provides a loving Christian atmosphere where all children share a variety of age-appropriate experiences and learn to play and work with others.
Social Development:
Children learn the actions and language needed to interact positively with other children and adults in group settings.
Emotional Development:
Children learn to express feelings through words, art and play activities. Teachers strive to increase each child’s confidence in abilities and enhance self-esteem.
Physical Development:
Children are provided opportunities to increase large and small motor
skills through many different activities
Cognitive Development:
Love of learning is promoted. Teachers provide a literacy rich environment where children are building a foundation for learning to read and write. Children learn to make choices in activities, to explore and to solve problems in their play. Teachers provide experiences for each child that will be challenging, but not frustrating.
Spiritual Development:
Children learn to appreciate God’s creation, know God’s love, and
recognize everyone as children of God
Curriculum:
To guide choice of activities and schedules, room arrangement, adult-child
interactions and assessment, the Preschool uses The Creative CurriculumÒ.For more information see
www.teachingstrategies.com.A complete list of the goals of the curriculum is given to prospective
parents when they tour.
