Registration and Class Placement – The registration form with a list of class offerings can be downloaded here.

Class Placement is done by lottery if any class choices are oversubscribed.

The lottery for priority registrants (returning students and children of alumni families or UCP member families) will be held on February 12.  In order to be eligible for the lottery, forms must be received before noon on Tuesday, February 12.

The lottery for Community registrations will be held on February 14. In order to be eligible for the lottery, forms must be received before noon on Thursday, February 14.

The completed registration forms, including the non-refundable registration fee may be hand-delivered to either preschool office at Hunters Woods or Lake Anne during school hours or mailed to 2222 Colts Neck Rd, Reston, VA 20191.

PROGRAM SELECTION:  Indicate 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choices, PLEASE, so that you may be assured of a class placement.  If you do not receive your first choice(s), you will automatically be placed on a waiting list for that class and placed in your next choice class.  Make your choices carefully as requests for changes after the beginning of school are not granted.

You will be notified of your child’s acceptance within a week after the lottery.   If you have questions, please call the school on or after February 16.

After the lottery, all registration forms are handled on a first-come, first-served basis. 

Enrollment packets with Parent Handbook and necessary forms will be distributed in March.

Class Offerings

Due to the sale of the Hunters Woods building, all classes for the 2008/2009 session will be located in the Lake Anne building at 11508 North Shore Drive.

In order to safely accommodate more children at the Lake Anne location, we are scheduling our classes for 2-year-olds and one class for 4-year-olds from 8:55 – 11:55 am.  These will be walk-in classes with no car line.  Preference for this 4’s class will be given to parents who are also bringing 2-year-old siblings.

Parents are encouraged to consider the benefits of afternoon classes.  Many parents have discovered that they really liked this time for their children to be at school.  These classes are priced less than morning classes partly because the class does not meet one day each month due to teachers’ staff meetings.

Lunch Bunch Offerings

Children may enjoy staying at school an additional hour to have lunch and play together with friends on a regular basis. This activity is known as Lunch Bunch.

NEW - This year we are offering some classes with a lunch bunch built in for the whole class to enjoy together one or two days a week. The fee for this offering is included in the class fee.

We are also offering our traditional Lunch Bunch Add-on with children from several classes meeting on Monday and Wednesday afternoons. The fee for this activity is paid monthly based on the cost for the year; enrollment is for the entire year. Enrollment is done now for the year and payments made on a monthly basis.  Children may also enroll in Lunch Bunch during the year and on an occasional basis at $8.25/session if space is available.

Financial Aid

Partial scholarships are available for those families who are unable to pay the full cost of preschool tuition. Please request a scholarship application on the registration form or from the office.  Preschool Advisory Committee will act on the requests in a timely fashion.
